The aim of the clinic is to provide the highest level of expertise in IPL
treatment of vascular lesions (Rosacea, thread veins etc.), skin rejuvenation
and long term hair removal and acne vulgaris using the Depilite Multifunctional
Intense Pulsed Light system from Lynton Lasers Ltd.
Glynis Turpin has been a hair and skin blemish removal specialist for 19 years
carrying out electrolysis, short wave diathermy and for the last 34 ½ years,
Intense Pulsed Light treatments.
She holds the Diploma in Remedial Electrolysis from the Institute of
Electrolysis, the Advanced Epilation certificate from Rita Roberts, the NVQ
D32/33 Assessors Award, Certificate in Education and 3 certificates in
excellence for Intense Pulsed Light training. Glynis attends courses, workshops
and seminars regularly to remain updated with skills and techniques and has
attended a laser safety course at St Georges Hospital. In the last 16 years
Glynis has lectured in several further education colleges, worked as an examiner
for CIBTAC, worked at Kent & Sussex hospital with Dr MacDonalds patients in the
out patient dermatology department, and carried out her own private practice
continuously throughout this time treating clients for the removal of
superfluous hair, vascular lesions, pedunculated papillomas, milia, warts, basal
cell papillomas and for skin photo rejuvenation.
Melanie Knight has been a beauty therapist since 2003 having attended West Kent
College and completed a City & Guilds Diploma level 2 & 3 in Beauty Therapy. She
has a diploma in Indian Headly trichophobic and more attention seems to be
placed upon personal appearance and grooming.
Glynis Turpin has performed electrolysis for the permanent removal of unwanted
hair for 19 years and has a sound client base, many of which arrive through
personal recommendation.
Over the last 5years Glynis has trained in and used 3 systems of Intense Pulsed
Light, the most recent being DepiLite (Mark I Lumina) which is a safe and
effective system for long term hair removal. This system produces desired
results on a wide range of skin and hair types much more quickly and comfortably
than electrolysis. The colour pigment in the hair, melanin, absorbs the light
when it is flashed across the skin causing the hair follicle to heat up thus
restricting the follicles ability to produce another hair.
Melanie and Anna-Marie have 2 and 3 years, respectively, experience with the
DepiLite (Mark I Lumina) Multifunctional system.
Vascular Treatments
Glynis has been treating vascular lesions for 13 years by diathermy. On
selected, suitable clients it is effective but can be a gradual process as each
capillary is treated individually.
Glynis Turpin, Melanie Conde Knight and Anna-Marie Watts have all undergone
training with Lynton Lasers to treat vascular lesions, thread/red veins and
rosacea with the DepiLite Multifunctional Intense Pulsed Light system.
The multi-functional DepiLite removes vascular lesions safely, effectively and
quickly using the 585 handpiece. Common vascular conditions that can be treated
include fine thread veins, rosacea and naevi.
Rosacea is a common condition of unknown cause affecting facial skin. It usually
appears when people reach 30 - 40 and manifests as a flushing/redness on cheeks,
nose, forehead and chin. If left untreated it can worsen and the redness can
increase. Bumps and pimples and small dilated blood vessels become visible.
Thread veins and telangiectasia can be simply treated with DepiLite. They tend
to occur on the face and legs and generally consist of fine visible veins
appearing near the surface of the skin. They can increase over time. Leg thread
veins are very common, 1 in 5 women find them very embarrassing and distressing.
Only fine veins on legs can be successfully treated.
Skin Rejuvenation
This is reasonably new in the aesthetic market and is becoming more popular.
It is less traumatic or costly than surgery, microdermabrasion and the skin
recovery is quick. Glynis Turpin, Melanie Conde Knight and Anna-Marie Watts have
undergone training to carry out treatments to remove _ sun spots_ and to
stimulate skin rejuvenation with the DepiLite (Mark I Lumin) Multifunctional
Intense Pulsed Light system.
Glynis Turpin, Melanie Conde Knight and Anna-Marie Watts will be using systems
purchased from Lynton Lasers Ltd which is a company that has operated profitably
for 10 years and has over 200 laser systems installed in hospitals and clinics
worldwide. The company prides itself on technical excellence and customer
support. It is certified to ISO46001 and applies CE mark to all its products.
Standard Forms of Contract
All treatments will only be carried out after a detailed prior consultation
between the patient and the practitioner. Standard forms of contract (consent
forms) for hair removal, vascular lesions and combined facial therapy are
attached.
Review of Quality of Treatment
Annual surveys are carried out to ensure that treatment and services are carried
out to an acceptable standard. Feedback is actively sought from all clients
after each treatment and acted upon if necessary.

and side effects will be discussed and written informed consent will be obtained
from the patient. The patient will be able to take away an information leaflet

confirm that there are no adverse reactions to the light. A comprehensive record
of the consultation and any future treatments will be stored in a secure filing
cabinet.
